| Randy Leonard Randy was born and raised in Portland, attending Irvington Grade School, Grant High School, and graduating from Portland State University in 1975 with a degree in History. Randy served 25 years as a Portland Firefighter, 12 years as President of the Portland Firefighters Association, and 9 years in the Oregon State Legislature. In 2002, Randy was elected to the Portland City Council where he spearheaded initiatives like Portland's "Renewable Fuels Standard" which makes Portland the only city in the country to require that all diesel sold in the City be at least 5% biodiesel, "Project 57" which gives Portland Police dedicated jail beds and drug and alcohol treatment resources to deal with some of Portland's toughest criminals, and took on the Portland Development Commission to eliminate tax breaks to market rate developments.
